Sustainability Practices

Tezenis is committed to responsible manufacturing processes and eliminating disposable plastic. It cleans up Italian beaches from waste to help preserve the marine fauna and the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea.

It recently began introducing packaging and boxes made from recycled materials. However, the majority of its business remains detrimental to the environment.

Tezenis only uses a tiny proportion of organic materials such as organic cotton or recycled materials such as recycled cotton, recycled polyester, and regenerated nylon.

Most of the fabrics it uses are either natural without relevant certifications, such as conventional cotton, or synthetic petroleum-based fibers such as polyester, nylon, acrylic, and more.

Tezenis dedicated very few of its collections to sustainable fashion. It also uses a small amount of semi-synthetic fibers or regenerated cellulosic fabrics such as modal and viscose.

Tezenis publishes a list of all its manufacturers on its corporate website. It aims to pay attention to people and the environment that surrounds us.

The 2021 Fashion Transparency Index gave Tezenis a score of only 11% based on how much the group discloses about its social and environmental policies, practices, and impacts.

The Italian clothing retailer doesn't show any labor certification standard that would ensure good working conditions, decent living wages, health, safety, and other important rights for workers in its supply chain.

Tezenis has a code of conduct that applies to all its suppliers and subcontractors based on the regulations set by the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Tezenis assesses compliance with its Code of Conduct by informal visits or third-party audits with or without notice. It manages the conditions of employment and services supplied to employees directly.

Tezenis doesn't use exotic animal skin, hair, fur, or angora. But it uses wool and silk to manufacture many of its clothing pieces.

These animal-derived materials are cruel and unethical. They also harm the environment by producing greenhouse gases and waste. More sustainable alternatives exist.

Sustainability Goals

Tezenis is committed to improving its environmental and social impact. It will use 25% low climate impact raw materials (e.g. organic, regenerative, sustainable, etc) by 2025.

Tezenis will ensure that at least 50% of all plastic packaging is 100% recycled by 2030. It will also eliminate single-use plastic in packaging by 2030.

Tezenis plans to implement 50% renewable energy across its operations by 2025 and 100% by 2030. Its goal is to achieve 65% renewable electricity by 2025.
