Sustainability Practices
Misha Nonoo is an early adopter of the direct-to-consumer model, which increases transparency, lowers pricing, and promotes sustainability by reducing waste.
She introduced new sustainable fabrications from natural fibers and zero waste knit production. She also eliminated plastics from her domestic shipments, moving to recycled paper envelopes and tissue paper.
Misha Nonoo uses a medium proportion of sustainable materials such as linen and recycled synthetic fabrics such as recycled polyester.
The brand also uses some semi-synthetic regenerated fibers such as viscose made from renewable materials.
However, the designer uses polluting conventional cotton to produce many of her clothes.
Misha Nonoo produces her creations in China. She frequently visits the factories to ensure that ethical practices are carried out, in addition to considering third party accreditations.
Misha Nonoo doesn't use any exotic animal skin, or hair, fur, angora. But she uses leather, wool, and silk to manufacture many of its clothing pieces.
These animal-derived materials are cruel and unethical and harm the environment by producing greenhouse gases and wastes. More sustainable alternatives exist.
Sustainability Goals
Misha Nonoo doesn't show any measurement of its greenhouse gas emissions, water, land, and energy use, pollution, and waste across its supply chain. It doesn't have any clear sustainability goal or timeline to improve in the future either.
